just posting up some intresting rulings that may come up due to me abusing them. anyone please feel free to use this as a section for questions and intresting things that you think others may not know or simply things that may come up due to the deck you run

http://jingrock.blogspot.com/

take a look at his monday nov 30 post and he explains that if blizzard is summoned with a black whirlwind face up turn and turn player decides to put blizzards effect as chain link one then whirl wind as chain link 2 royal opression, divine wrath, and gladiatr beast war chariot may not be activated to the effect of blizzard. also writes about how to save your blizzards special summons from things like BTH, TH and TT

I will look moe into this tomorrow but maybe someone already knows, I'm looking for rulings of kalut vs honest, at regionals I was told that honest always trumps kaluts because kalut is dmg step and honest is dmg calc, how ever I can even find evidence that backs thus up, please post source if found... I found on ygo wiki both can be played before or during dmg calc

Kalut and Honest both have the same activation requirements and therefore can be activated in the Damage Step - remember, Damage Calculation is a substep of the Damage Step.

As far as Honest vs Kalut, there are many variables to take into consideration. Since there can be as many chains during the Damage Step as necessary, it is completely possible for 1 player to activate the effect of one of the above monsters, and the other player lets it resolve then begins a new chain with the other one.

The only time you cannot create a new chain is if both players pass priority to activate Damage Step effects, one of the players can say something similar to "At the end of the Damage Step, I'll activate..." meaning this is the last chain before the Damage Step ends.

Now, as far as Honest vs Kalut on the same chain, well here's how it works.

Ex.1: Player 1 activates Honest, Player 2 chains Kalut.
Resolves backwards, Player 2's Blackwing would gain 1400 and then Honest would resolve gaining the total attack of the Blackwing monster (Kalut's effect included).

Ex.2: Player 1 activates Kalut, Player 2 chains Honest.
Resolves backwards, Player 2's Honest resolves, gaining the current ATK from the Blackwing (prior to Kalut's effect), then Kalut resolves, adding 1400 to the Blackwing's ATK.

In Ex.1, Honest will always win. In Ex.2, it completely depends on the base ATK of both monsters.... but essentially, if the Light monster's ATK prior to Honest is more than 1400, Honest will win. If the Light monster's ATK is less than 1400 prior to Honest, then Kalut will win....obv if it's 1400 then they tie.

Hope this clears up some confusion.

new question, just wondering while aukus lightsworn homo is face up on the field can lumina pitch a card just to pitch? or because she cant target a LS monster with her effect she cant even discard a card? which is it?

another question is with miracle fusion do both monsters need to be on the field or in the grave or can one be field and other is grave?

she Can't pitch because she says "you can discard one card to Special summon 1 Level 4 or lower lightsworn monster". since you can't target to begin with i would assume you can't even activate her effect.

and yeah i think Miracle can use cards on the field and in the grave...Poly can use cards on field and in hand.

i assumed it with miracle but i just wanted to make sure about the lumina ruling cause elijah ran into it twice today and was under the impression that he could just pitch, he went with the majority rule of no you cant while aurkus is face up since we couldnt find a ruling while we were there. i just hope he didnt get screwed.

As far as official rulings, there is nothing listed regarding the interaction between Aurkus and Lumina.

But, from general knowledge of game mechanics, I would have to say you guys came to the correct solution - You cannot activate (discard a card) Lumina's effect while Aurkus is on the field.

My reasoning is this: You cannot activate Lumina's effect if there is not already a target present in your graveyard (ie. you can't discard for no reason). And while Aurkus is on the field, you are not allowed to select a Lightsworn as a target (doesn't matter where it is located...grave, field, removed, etc). So if you don't have a valid target, you cannot activate the effect.

As far as Miracle Fusion is concerned... you can use monsters in any combination of the field and graveyard.
